FAQs
OCEMS (Online Continuous Emission Monitoring System) is a set of guidelines released by CPCB to measure and monitor pollutants released by various industries into environment. In this system, IoT data loggers are installed to the stack analyzers in the plant and the data from these analyzers is sent to CPCB and SPCB portals.
CPCB has released list of 17 industries that need to implement OCEMS. These include but not limited to cement, pharmaceutical, refineries, power plants, steel and other industries. Detailed list can be found on the CPCB website
To implement OCEMS, an organization must first register itself on the OCEMS portal. Post registration, the industry and station details need to be added. After adding the details, IoT data loggers need to be added and installed in the equipment to send data to CPCB and SPCB portals
Companies belonging to the 17 industries should register and implement OCEMS before the last date. Failing to do so may lead to notices from the CPCB / SPCBs and cancellation of the licenses
